My customer has chosen 1×4 t&g “scenic” mahogany for her front porch floor replacement. It is well under roof and will be attached to strong, straight framing.
I have talked her out of the usual yellow pine, which I’ve always pre primed on all 4 sides before installation. I don’t want to do this with the mahogany; I’ve already given her a price which does not include this step.
My plan is to use anchor seal on the cut ends and treat the porch with penofin after installation. Am I right to think that pre treating all 4 sides is not necessary? I have no experience with the mahogany porch flooring.
