The official Strait-Flex installation procedure is to use green lid mud. NO hot mud. I asked them why and they said it’s brittle and doesn’t have as much glue in it as green lid does.
So I asked, what about corner bead spray glue. The answer was, “I don’t know. I don’t have much experience with that”. Kind of surprising, I thought there might some official comment.
I’d like to use it…way faster, no waiting for the standard compound to dry. But I don’t want to screw up a repair and have to redo it later.
Has anyone successfully used corner bead glue with Strait-Flex? Mid-Flex 300 is what I’ll be using. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work, it works for plastic bead as long as you staple it and Mid-Flex has paper and fuzziness on the back of it which seems like it would hold on pretty good.
