“Temporary” storm window-like panel sheeting?
3-season porch we got with the new (old) house last November had panels of 1×2’s covered in some kind of water-clear plastic sheet fastened between wall studs. Window screen on outside sufficient for spring – fall.
With the cold last winter & the winds up in SW Wisconsin, several of the panels suffered plastic failure from brittleness (-20°F) & wind.
I’m looking for product references for replacing all the panel coverings prior to the coming winter, preferably something short of rigid polycarbonate which would be pricey in the extreme for the year or two before I undertake rebuilding the entire porch from the ground up.
Needs to be 36″ wide max. & available in a roll….

Just get the heaviest poly sheeting you can find.
Yeah, well...
... that'd be my first choice too (got a roll of 6 mil handy) but The Boss wants "see-thru" & poly sheeting is cloudy.
What I know of that'd work - were it not for the extreme temp environment - would be polyester (Mylar) but that gets brittle when cold, doubtful last one winter. Vinyl (like shower curtain but clear) shrinks too much, likely pull free of fasteners, most likely staples.
Update - found something via Google made by Warp's in Chicago, called Glass-weave:

- so now I need to find some somewhere local... ought to work fine.

Warps, I think it is that might have been.
crystall clear, heavier than 4 mil poly, a bit stiffer.
not cheap.
