I had a good experience last week at Home Depot. My sewer line plugged up and I went to HD to rent an auger. I do this about once a year as I get tree roots.
I don't like lifting the heavy machine by myself but don't have any choice, but on the other hand I don't want to pay roto rooter either. In the past I have saved about $50 by doing it myself.
I was visiting with my friend in the tool rental dept and he suggested I rent either a 50 ft or 75 ft auger instead of the heavy 100 footer.
I mentally measured the length of the sewer line and determined the 50 ft would probably work.
I rented the machine did the job and returned it a couple of hours later and paid my bill of about $30 which is much better than paying $50 or $60 for the 100 ft machine when you don't need it.
Thanks Home Depot.
