I’m working on my second Trex deck. It’s Woodland Brown, supposedly the most consistent color available. Well one length is a different shade then another length AND one length is more porous then another. I ordered the different lengths to have the least waste and end joints, however now I’m thinking I better mix it up or it’s gonna look like hell.
In the future should I order all one length?
Do the colors eventually fade to one uniform color?
I know I could contact Trex, but I wanted an unbiased answer.
I also noticed at their website that you can become a Trex certified contractor, is there anything to this?
Thanks for your input! jocobe

Jo-Trex will usually fade to a fairly even color. The lengths will be different shades because they are made at different times and one stack may have set in the yard longer than the other.Whatever is on the top of the stack will always be lighter than what is underneath.
You may become a certified Trex installer by setting through a short class and having the Trex rep for your area inspect a Trex deck that you have already built.
He will approve your deck and you will have a hyperlink to your website which has been a plus for me because I have been getting 2 calls a week to bid a Trex deck for My Zip code area.
