I’ve heard that sherwin williams had a stale urine smell problem with some of their paints. Has anybody heard of such a thing or experienced a problem? Did Sherwin Williams rectify the problem, and if so, how?

Some SW paints have a very powerful chemical smell but I don't think of it as a urine smell.
However,
I was once told by a paint chemist (this must've been twenty five years ago) that if I ever openned any latex product and noticed an ammonia smell that it was a good indication that it had probably frozen and separated and that it should be returned.
Read the ammomia part about paint too a few years ago when researching an ammonia odor from "alaskan cod" -whatever that really is- that smelled so during and after cooking. Wife asked guy at grocery, big blank stare, etc. Found on the internet that a freezer on a processing ship had failed with leaked ammonia saturating the fish - no recall, apparently we got some - yuk.
Could SW paint be a similar processing glitch that is obvious only on your specific batch of paint?
Sounds to me like piss poor quality paint.
return it. the sweetener they put in their yellow paint most likely didn't work. Same problem with the brown paint.
no turn left unstoned
Yeah.... they put restrooms in their factory now and that seems to have solved the problem.
The exception being when the painter doesn't want to walk to the porta-potty.
After reading the other threads I think someone working at sherwin williams must have been smoking cigarettes when making that paint.
If you get the paint at a Sherman Williams store it smells delectable. The urine smelling paint is sold at Lowes and Home Depot, and other big box stores, Oh yeah Walmart too.
are u certain that maybe in a drunken state of confussion u took a leak in your paint??? it can happen to the best of us
do you really think that there is someone here at this piss-poor-o web site that can help you?

Could be worse , could smell like URANUS
I can see that this thread has gone down the drain!

Hmm... just like the cook who takes a leak in the food... he's giving it a little bit of "wang". ;-)
Urine smell in Sherwin Williams paint
I am having this problem right now! I hired a painter who painted two bedrooms and the hall with Sherwinn Williams paint, the colors I selected. We have had a faint sour/urine smell since it was completed. I kept thinking it would go away but it has not. Did you find a solution to this problem?

take a pie pan of white vinegar and place by an air return-that should help out.
And old painters trick (for oil based paints, but it should work)
