What's the best toilet? in medium cost range

pizza's picture

Hi all,

I'm about ready to go toilet shopping.  What would you say is the best toilet to consider- I want good quality and flow performance. NO bells and whistles just a normal flush toilet, no electrical pumps or fancy gadgets inside. Either one-piece or two piece.

I'm not looking to buy the most expensive and don't want the cheapest either (my experience with anything more often than not always seems to be that low price is= low quality). Something good quality.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

We're very pleased with the American Standard Cadet 3 we bought when the toilet downstairs decided to self-destruct.  Had it a year and a half and it's been zero problems.  No clogs, stays pretty clean on its own, with only an occasional swish of the brush.  And the price is right.

We are like tenant farmers chopping down the fence around our house for fuel when we should be using Nature's inexhaustible sources of energy -- sun, wind and tide. ... I'd put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power! I hope we don't have to wait until oil and coal run out before we tackle that. --Thomas Edison

My American Standard (post #205605, reply #3 of 3)

My American Standard Champions are the best toilets I've ever used.  Instant waste removal, and there is enough water in the tank for a quick partial 2nd flush if you need it.

I've bought and installed 4 of them now.

YAY!  I love WYSISYG editing!  And Spellcheck!
