By considering things like energy-efficient mechanicals, window orientation, and renewable energy sources, homes can be evaluated to meet the energy codes. Here's what the IRC has to say.

Einstein said, "Your theories should be as simple as possible, but no simpler." 'Simplistic' is a term of abuse, usually describing something that has been made simple by leaving out considerations that should have been included. Is that what you meant?

I cetainly do. The new ones are trash. The quality, stability and consistancy is just not there.
The new ones are soft, sloppy and nothing like straight. I much prefer the old boards. Fewer knots. Tight grain, stability. A much better product.
The new boards are harder to stack than the old... I could just look through all the old boards easily to see who posted and what was said previously. The new boards, well once you look through a stack it is hard to get back to the old stack and who can remember what was said without waiting for the prospo dudes to unload the old messages. Jeez Old Pro, not quite old, not quite pro, but closer every day on both...
A part of me misses the simple layout, for sure. Though I don't despise this one as many others here do. My main compaint of the new look is the persistent header frame with the Taunton logo and links. That should be optional in my opinion, it takes up much too much space. I regret the loss of content that I see resulting from the change, and the size limits that basically killed the Photo Gallery, which was really becoming quite something on the old board.
Reminds me of when Coke changed the formula. Best of intentions....
I use 98 and IE5.5

I love that phrase. Know people that bristle at it. But it means a lot to me

I do miss the old boards.
the old boards had much tigher growth rings, which made the boards more stable. Boards available these days are from fast-growth trees, and they tend to be much less stable than the old boards.
As they say...you can never go back...unless you have one of those funky Deloreans.

I a line on a boat load of virgin Tandy 80's that sunk in a store. I an getting a dive team together to recover these.
This is virgin OLD century material and should make great "boards".
