Friend in need...
Good buddy just got laid off from a dealership, certified mechanic Harly, Honda etc.
Willing to relocate to Tn, Ms, or here is KY.
Anyone know anything in the wind about that trade hiring ? My firstthought was Ponytl, he knows everything about memphis and motors.

talked to a guy last week who had a $50,000 harley chopper
wanted to sell it for $25,000
He hopes he has a 25,000 bike! Forget the 50,000.

The big one, yes. The one ton that had been a Ryder rental.
I was afraid I was looking at a thousand bucks waving goodbye, but got a good rec to a place that specializes in auto trannies and they did me good for $150.
It had been slipping out of gear

i gotta ask, maybe i just brought down the computer world??????
but when you hit this thread [post 1-3] is it overwhelmed by a pic of a big dog bike.
i was trying to post a normal pic ,and now when i open this thread,it's like it's the new pop up ad. lol
i may have to take up selling advertising. [if i knew what i did.]
i just called a friend of mine ask him to pull up this page,he's got the big pic also.,man this ought to get me thrown in the bt jail for covering up their paying ads. if i could just figure out how to do it to those free elctric ads before i go............

Larry, did you know Big Dog used to employ 2-3 guys whose full-time job was to test drive each and every new motorcycle
I would see them riding all over town
Rain or shine

nice gig if you can get it.
they really do several things that i wouldn't expect from a full fledged factory setting, guess that how they made it work.
they have cancelled their rally this year because it was getting so big the city was getting a little concerned that they didn't want to be the next sturgis.

Was it a major problem?
That tranny was rebuilt a year or two before you bought it.
Just wondering.

Nah, it just quit downshifting , but only after my daily interstate haul butt home at 80 or so, in the warmer weather.
I flushed it and refilled, and it was only occasional. Then it started when it was cooler, and Fri. it did it again, but STAYED that way all weekend, mostly parked, but hopping around the yard.
Then Mon. it was just stuck in 3rd gear. Someone in the past said it likely was a shift solenoid, which I found out is rare as hens teeth...
Buddy comes and says the other van, no match. So we yanked the ONE part that did match, the speed senser...tooka test run and so far, alls good.
It's been a great truck, I about rebuilt the whole front end, and she's tight as they say in NASCAR.
And even loaded with a ton, she stops on a dime, gives 9 cents change, green stamps and a pat on the back.
I'm shooting the 500K mark..LOL.

That's good.
I've owned dozens of vehicles, but for some reason that van was my favorite.

i'm a little farther away than that, but here in wichita we have big dog factory. they laid off a ton of people a year or so ago. if he's willing to go that far he might send them a resume. i have heard they are picking up a little now.
this is off the wall, but if he is the type of guy that would, could, and have some money to get started, there are several guys around here that found themselves in the same predicament, start their own shop.
really doesn't take a large place, maybe 2000'. if while working at the dealership,he built a good base,on day one they will be coming to him instead of the unknown at the dealer.
could be a great opportunity....................

Just laid off don't help his $$$ situation tho'.

rotflmao!!!!!!!!!!!!
no,not a puppy mill.
here in wichita is where coleman camping is located. 10 years ago the coleman family sold for$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and the boy, sheldon coleman decided to start a motorcycle manf.
called it BIG DOG MOTORCYCLES
this is how smart i am,i would of bet a 100. there was no way he would make it. hd was his direct competitor, and if i'm not mistaken some of the first ones had a hd motor. they don't now. they now take up about a 4 sg block area, and they make some pretty cool one off stuff,i think thats where they have done well.
