Welcome to BT coach!
Post your query on hvac-talk.com and you will get lots of answers.
lotta horror stories there in the residential section too, you should especially read the 'jonjig' (SP) thread.
HVAC-talk does not answer DIY queries, but they do love to tell you who is a good contractor .... no doubt you will be told to check the IGSHPA register for competent folks. Then that the install makes all the difference vs. the brand (BTW, all statements like that --- are true!!)
Now, since they dont do diy there but we DO on BT, I suggest you read up on the horror stories, then buy yourself a backhoe or well drilling rig and get a GSHP unit off ebay and DIY and save lots of bucks ---- and have the machines afterwards too!

Does mike smith have work for a specific company or does he work for himself?
He's is self employed contractor ,experianced and uber -capable . But i pretty sure that he has the resources to direct you to where you wanna go . He is a long time poster here , hit the the To bar and go with MikeSmith and he'll do the directing , I think he may have me on ignore, but cest la vie.... Mind you i'm not 100% with this , around 95% . There's a bed and breakfast on a hill in Sakonnet that, it's a historic house . They renovated the place and used geo - thermal , I'll try for a link.
