I want to share this view of an out-of-door living space my son and I built for my wife, his mother. It is remarkable how often we dine and relax out here! Yes, even in the cold of a midwest winter we delight in gathering around a fire, singing songs (he plays the guitar) or chatting about the day's events.
The wall is made from cement block and topped with stucco. It lies on a crushed rock foundation. Wall caps were custom-made and glued in place. The shade structed is supplemented by roll-down shades (not seen in this photo) that afford a sense of privacy. The floor is blue stone. Potted plants add the right touch.
