My old house
It took a while, but I finally got the exterior of my 1840 farm house redone, and had a new garage built. More photos are at http://usher51-myoldhouse.blogspot.com/
Complete Interior do-over is next.

The new garage fits well, too.
When was that house built? (post #207247, reply #2 of 5)
When was that house built? I'm guessing 1825. Looking good!

My house is in one of the western suburbs of Detrioit. It was built in 1840, owned by 4 families before me, one a Civil War veteran. While the renovation was going on, I met a woman who was born in the house in 1916, grew up and was married in it. She's the second youngest of 11 children.
Wow, that's interesting, lots (post #207247, reply #4 of 5)
Wow, that's interesting, lots of history there! Most people don't know much about the history of the former people who lived in their homes.
Nice (post #207247, reply #5 of 5)
