Hi there. Long time listener, first time caller.
I have a Dolmar 111i chainsaw. It’s a cute little thing and I like it. BUT. I can’t keep the chain tight. I have disassembled the thing and cleaned it real well. Made sure the threads were clean so that they could tighten all the way. I can crank them down tight as they go without stripping and the tension screw too. Fire it up start cutting and in a matter of minutes, (most times only one minute) it’s loose again.
I hope I’m missing something pretty obvious as I had very little chainsaw training as a youngster. Most of it consisted of my dad using the famous line. “Hold my beer and watch this.” Followed by “Run like He11!”
So what’s the deal fellers?
Pardon my fat fingers.

I know this sounds stupid to ask... but are you put'n enough pressure on the tenison screw? is it back'n out? some have a spring on em like a carb screw... is the spring still there? i had one once that seemed to back out faster than i screwed it in...
good luck

Don't feel bad - I used a chain saw for 2 hours before I figured out that it was better to start the engine.
That way, when you criticize him, you're a mile away from him and you have his shoes.
LOL man i got a brand new saw at a yard sale for $5 dude said it wouldn't cut for squat....
i turned the blade around seemed to cut fine then

Uhh believe it or not. I thought the part that makes the chain spin was locked up today. After I searched and searched for an owners manual on the net, I found the trouble shooting guide and they had my problem right there. The motor would run but the chain wouldn't spin. I'm never gonna live this down but it was funny. The problem it seems was the chain brake or whatever you call it was engaged.

They took Bob and Tom off the air here. The station they were on changed formats, and they didn't exactly fit in.
I can't say I miss the laugh track they are constantly playing.Doncha wish your girlfriend was hot like me?
The laugh track is lame but it's the best we have to choose from here.

There is a local morning show that is pretty good, but it gets old. Stern is gone, so I've reverted to AM sports talk.Doncha wish your girlfriend was hot like me?
You're in Pittsburgh right?
The station that used to carry Stern (WRKZ?) just picked up Opie and Anthony this morning. They take a while to grow on you but are much funnier than Stern ever was once they do.
They are the reason I bought an XM radio.
6 AM to 9AM.
I heard they were going to take David Lee Roth off, but didn't hear of a replacement. I'll have to check it out.Doncha wish your girlfriend was hot like me?
Starts Wed at 6 AM.
dont know if you can get the station but i found bob and tom on 93.3
I love Bob and Tom, but we dont get him no more. I luv the Mr obvious with the deck builder.
That's NEVER happened to me. I don't care what all my relatives say...

like sphere says, put the tip of the bar up on a log, set the rear handle on the ground, and push the motor down while you tighten the bar nuts. The thing I've got to mention- I've sawed with some good sawyers who let the chain get riciculously loose on the bar- like it's easy to take the chain off and on without loosening any bolts. I don't do that though- just as long as it's pretty easy to see a few drive teeth.

Thanks. I've got an idea how to go about it now. I see some stuff I was doing wrong. And some stuff I wasn't doing at all.
