cordless tracksaw

Anyone out there have experience with the cordless version of the tracksaw.  I have the makita plungesaw and like it and have recently seen the cordless tracksaw deeply discounted on some tool sites , so began to wonder if it is worthy of adding to the arsenal ?

Are you saying Makita is offering the saw and it's the same base, so your investment in the tracks is consistant?

 

Personally, I use my saw with the vac almost all the time.  I feel It'd be a waste to add a saw that wouldn't turn on the vac auto.  Dealing with the hose, might as well deal with the cord.

 

Will the power of the battery operated saw equal the corded version?

Didn't mean to be misleading ;  Makita of course is not offering the saw.  I to always use mine with a vac.  I was just wondering about the power and ergonomics of the tracksaw.  I have tried one at a tool demo and found it different in its plunging , etc.. Sadly the tracks are not universal.

to another brand I guess you mean.

Of course Dewalts saws would use the same tracks for either.
