I bought a dump trailer last spring—what a hard working piece of equipment-it paid for itself before the first year was halfway through!
however— I don’t forsee using it untill spring. I have emptied it out, tarped it off nice and dry–and basically it will sit untill april.
should i do anything to the battery(Marine)——like disconnect it, bring it home and keep it un-frozen?

Yes.
If you are not going to use it, I would either bring it in to conditioned space or put a maintainer (kind of like a trickle charger) on it (or both). I have 2 trailers and I leave them in but I use them throughout the winter also. If your battery is strong, it should be ok outside. But if it goes dead and then freezes then you are hosed.

ditto, pull it and bring it where it won't freeze, plus that no low life will steal it.
but one word of caution, before you load it with 3 ton of shingles and go to the dump, remember to put it back.
it's looks pretty stupid to have a dump and be hand unloading, been there, done that.

Hey Stephen - I can use another trailer while I'm working this winte.....I mean, I'll be glad to store it for you so you don't have to worry about the battery.

Grant, I think that is generous of you to offer to help a fellow out!!!
besides the maintainer mechaically lock/block the bed in a raised position to keep it free of water and ice....

WOW!!! What a Ride!
Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
I don't think anyone mentioned: do NOT store it on a concrete floor.
Put it up on a bench or a shelf.
i was always told the same thing,i've been around carfor 30 years. but i read here a while back that it is not true anymore.
batteries used to be made with {whatever type of plastic] and the cement would run them down. they say that all batteries made in the last 20 years are made with a different type and it has no effect on them.
but you do notice they don't sell new batts stored on the floor????if a man speaks in the forest, and there's not a woman to hear him,is he still wrong?
I've got one, too. Bought it new in '04, and I'm on my 3rd battery --
Learning curve, you know.
I installed a trickle charger for #2, but it didn't cut it. I was told to get a charger specifically designed for deep-cycle marine batteries -- around $50, I think. That's not bad, but I still haven't bought one.
Thanks for the reminder!
