Just wanted to post a personal review of this product (they are a little cheaper here):

 
A few years back I stepped on a drill bit in a tool bag... I managed to puncture everything except the bone behind my big toe - that actually BENT the drill bit.  I still have it hanging on my wall.
 
I found these after that, and have kept them in the shoes I work in.  On my current project I have removed two roofing nails and two stucco wire nails from the bottom of my shoes - so far!  All I feel is an odd shape under my foot, like I'm stepping on tape ball.
 
Anyway, it's cheap protection, and very comfortable to boot!

I bought some Rhino Tuff insoles and they made my feet explode!
