If you have built any of the houses for which Taunton sells plans, share some detail with us here. I have built two, and a third is in finish stage now. #1 was “Villa Rotilli” by Dale Mulfinger of Sala Architects in Minneapolis, #2 was Sarah Susanka’s “Not So Big House,” and the one now finishing is Peter Twombly’s “Timeless Classic.” All three plan sets were very complete, down to all finish details, and pretty much error-free. I plan to do a version of the “Storybook Cottage,” AKA “Maple Forest House,” by Michaela Muhady, sometime next year. The first two were for us (we live in the NSBH now) and the others are to be built as specs.

Do you have any photos of the Suzanka house that you built? What changes did you make? I love her work.
The only changes were to the exterior color scheme. Everything else is an absolute knock-off. Lighting, plumbingware, tile and stone colors, everything. We did not do the rope handrail at the staircase . . . too funky. Look at the pics in her books, and you are looking at ours.
well that sounds exciting. it must be just beautiful. I love her designs and am trying to incorporate much of her beautiful and practical attitude into my own house.
personally I just rip off Robert Stern on my new houses......see website below.
The old house.....well....its an Andy C original addition
