Instaling a ceiling fan in 12′ x 14′ room (our toddler’s room) that is already air-conditioned and has two windows. The point is to circulate air (cold or hot) allthe time and keep little fingers out of it.
Questions:
Brands? the quietest, best quality, those with remotes and/or sensors, lights, etc.
Size? Installation is not a problem as we are using a contractor. Must buy it soon. Would like something a bit different for child’s room.
Input?

I installed a Hampton Bay ceiling fan about a year ago. It runs almost everyday, and it has been great - super quiet, no problems. I installed this our family room to move the air from our pellet stove.
I did not get one with a remote. Figured one of the kids would make it disappear...
I would suggest about a 42 inch fan for the room you are talking about. There are also some smaller ones at 36".
Thanks,

Minka or Hunter. Expensive, and worth it.
I install scores of ceiling fans every year, and replace a few, too.
Make sure the installer mounts it to a well-secured, fan-rated box.
Good luck,

Take a look at Casablanca, too. Spendy, extremely well-balanced. Also, (or regardless), contact the folks at http://www.FancyFan.com. Our local so-called high end dealer was totally worthless helping us out when we wanted two fans, and four sconces. I found Craig at FancyFan, and he found the sconces from several other dealers for me. Our local dealer just said "they don't make them anymore in the finish you want." Hmm. Tell Craig what you're doing--he'll give you good advice.
I don't work for either Casablanca, or FancyFan, I just tell everyone about dealers that helped us out when we went through a major remodel. This is my first post here, I wandered over from Knots group to ask a question, saw your post, and thought I'd weigh in.
THANKS A LOT!!!
