Hi folks,
My wife and I are selling our Victorian condo and buying a new one in a building built in the 50s and we’re not sure how to decorate it. It has fairly low ceilings, but lots of windows and light and big rooms. There are hardwood floors but not much in the way of detail or trim.
Obviously we’ve got to modernize our look, but we’re not all that interested in 50s retro, austere modern or industrial. Can anyone recommend books, magazines or websites, catalogs, etc.. where we can get ideas for a simple look that’s somewhere in between? We like color and wood.
Thanks!

Although it's not quite the same, Craftsman style may be close to what would suit such a house. Craftsman-style bungalos especially--lots of woodwork and simple details. Taunton sells a book called Craftsman Style Bungalos, if I remember correctly. Anyway, I'm a big fan of Craftsman style. Sometimes goes by the names of various proponents--like "Stickley" style, or "Greene and Greene". Good luck!
