I decided to apply Behr Venetian Plaster to my master bathroom walls. I put on 3 coats. The directions to the Behr online instructions said to make sure you burnish if you are going to put on a topcoat. After burishing with my trowel, I noticed that it looked shiny, but it also looks like scratch marks on the wall to me. (I really liked how it looked in the “matte” state.) So I put on the topcoat as I said before and it makes it look even worse…spotchy with scratch marks. Then, afterwards I read the instructions on the can and it says NOT to burnish if you are putting on a topcoat. I sent Behr an email asking them about this, but have not heard back from them. Has anyone had this experience, and if so, what did you do about it?
