This is known as "pointing" (post #192336, reply #1 of 2)
This is known as "pointing" or "tuck-pointing". Google those terms and you'll probably find a lot of info.
We are like tenant farmers chopping down the fence around our house for fuel when we should be using Nature's inexhaustible sources of energy -- sun, wind and tide. ... I'd put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power! I hope we don't have to wait until oil and coal run out before we tackle that. --Thomas Edison
I don't know what a bedford home is.............. (post #192336, reply #2 of 2)
And not sure what magnitude the cracks are..........
but, tuckpointing is something to be concerned about and can be taken care of by a novice. However, doing it so nobody knows you did it takes a bit of skill and care.
Cracks in the mortar joint might be something to be more concerned with.
how bad are these 'cracks'?
