Narrow crown stapler problems
Narrow crown stapler problems (post #190161)
ed worm on Sun, 06/13/2010 - 09:06
Good Day
I have reciently purchased a Porter Cable 18 gauge narrow crown stapler.
I have shot about 50 staples and it quit working. The drive pin comes down but
when I took it apart I found that the drive pin is not receeding far enough to allow the staples
to make it into the chamber. The tension behind the staples is fine.
I bought it on e-bay and it is being replaced but I get to keep this one.
Any idea on how to resolve this?
Ed

Is this a new pinner, or a used one? Typically I only have that kind of problem with any gun if it needs to be cleaned and/or oiled. Sometimes you can just manually push it back all the way once and it seems to get "unstuck." Those are my first two thoughts.
Peace,

Its brand new and it was oiled and it is clean.
I had it looked at and the drive pin is slightly bent so I think that I will
replace that and see what happens.
Thanks of the imput
