Hi all,

Newbie here. I'm a building a small (just under 1900 square feet) semi-custom home in Florida close to the Gulf of Mexico. I'm new to these forums but discovered them after buying my first issue of Inspired House. I have a lot of questions as I'm a first time home buyer/builder. I've been a big fan of Sara Susanka since I discovered her books about a year ago. I like her ideas and they played a big part in my decision of lot choice and planning our new home. We moved from NYC to Florida about a year ago planning to buy our first home after years of saving. We are in the framing stage now and even after reading volumes of books on the matter of inspired home building I still have a lot of questions. I look forward to hearing from all of you.

If you have specific questions about construction, the Breaktime forum is good (go to top of this page in the green box and click on "Breaktime" right after "Other Taunton Sites:"). The more specific the better. Design questions may be directed here, but this site doesn't have the traffic of the Breaktime site.
