I’ve never installed a Bath Exhaust fan/light combo.
Do they draw air as well as a fan only with the same CFM?
Doing a job, with a basement bath and I want good ventalation…..anyone know of a fan/light combo that works well in a basement bath?
Thanks

Panasonic
Quiet, long lasting, and a good buy for the money.
The light has nothing to do with the cfm's.
Just look at the CFM rating -- they'll be rated from 50 to maybe 150 CFM. Get one at least 70-80, if there will be a shower.
Also check the sone rating of the fan -- I don't remember what a "good" number is, but pick something quieter than the worst of them.
I guess, i was just wondering if the light fixture, on some designs, tended to obstruct the air flow.
I looked at some on display at one of the big boxes and did the hold the paper test to the fan and they had a fancy fan/light that didn't nearly suck the paper as good as a fan only unit ....that had the same CFM rating.
So I was just wondering if anyone had a particular Brand or model that they'd recommend.
The other gentleman recommneded Panasonic , ( the big box doesn't carry that brand) , but I looked at their website and they are not attractive. So I was wondering if the fancy looking ones, may sacrifice performance?
Broan/Nutone
Have better "looking" models. Check on the sone rating. You get above 2 and there's some bothersome noise.
Or, separate the light and fan.
Find a light you like, install the non descript fan only.
It's harder to validly do the "paper test" on many combo units, since the vents tend to be distributed around the perimeter.
There are only 3-4 major manufacturers, so you're not likely to find a wide variation of units. Most mfgrs will make a range of 3-4 models.
CFM is CFM. It is what it is. Until you add flex duct and bends and twists and choke points. Then the effective CFM drops off.
Panasonic "Whisper" series are very good fans, and quiet. Fantech is excellent. And mo' beddah quiet.
