why does a kitchen “have” to have built-ins?
standalone stove
standalone refridge
standalone sink.
everything else a piece of furniture with a purpose, or if u want the builtin look, cabinents hung with european rail system.
easier faster remodel
houses sold with fairly new kitchens, get redone because the new owner wants a different look.

Well, I have a stand alone stove and a stand alone fridge. The stove is the real problem--to the left of the stove is a wall, the right is the end of the kitchen counter. However, there is a gap of a couple of inches, so grease and sauces spatter the wall, dog hairs and dust collect in the gap and it's a PITA to clean. :-(
if the kitchen counter was a piece of furniture, u could pull it out to clean.
the kind of kitchen I described was the kind I grew up with.
our stove is actuallyn a standalone, put it fits between two counters.
refrig's are really aften standalone, but are fit into a space in the counters.bobl Volo, non valeo
