I am currently beginning research on finding designs, material providers, hardware, and labor (maybe a DIY project) for the construction of a somewhat freestanding glass shower the likes my wife would have to smile about.
I’m thinking of sourcing some smoked, tempered glass sheets in 1-1.5 meters wide by 2-meter height (probably 5-mm thickness) for glass panels and create 2-panel by 3-panel shower room.
Some of the things that concern me is the movement of such glass sheets (weight), forming a suitable base for them to sit on (and to collect and drain the waste water), the inter-panel hardware, making it water tight (commercial silicone sealant?), and a metal top-rail for holding everything together as a monolithic structure.
Anyone try anything like this?
