ceramic vs. granite countertop
ceramic vs. granite countertop (post #176398)
I am planning a kitchen remodel on a kitchen that is 30+ years old. I currently have 2 x 2 ceramic tile on counters, with dark grout. It has performed superbly over the years and in my 77 sq. feet of countertop, I don't have one chipped, scratched or cracked tile.
In trying to chose new countertop material, I find it difficult to get enthused over granite and am just not attracted to its appearance. On the other hand, when I browse the ceramic tile stores, there are numerous sizes and styles that appeal to me, along with the decorative tiles and listellos available.
Cost is not a factor but durability and low maintenance is. And, I am wondering if in years to come, that granite will tend to really "date" a kitchen.
