Greetings! Looking for input. I am building a housed stringer winder stair case in my house. I am planning to use Doug Fir for the stringers (to match existing trim) and Red Oak treads and risers (to match flooring). Anyone see any issues with combining hard and soft woods in this manner? Particularly regarding expansion & contraction. I live in the Chicago area if that matters weather wise. Thanks for any info!

I see this done frequently, so I don't see a problem.
