If I use Ipe for decking material ( 19" square ) won't I risk cracking when glued directly to a concrete slab?

I would say "yes," but you may want to ask your question at Breaktime (click on it at the top of this page right next to "Other Taunton Sites."). Hope there is a vapor barrier under the slab too. Lots of things to consider, but I would think you may want to attach sleepers to the slab and then the Ipe (sleepers will allow air movement under it).
