moisture and engineered floors
HELP! Finally the installers came to install my engineered floors. they did a moisture test and it came out 5.8%!!! This is a 40 year old cement slab on grade. They are saying no wood at all. An architect here at work said it can be done with a floating floor (they were planning glue down). What would make the slab have so much moisture? What can be done to fix it?
What do you think?
Also, any suggestions for flooring substitutions? I don't like carpet (that is what I was tearing out). My furniture is Queen Anne- Federalist in deep cherry finish.
Any help will be so appreciated.
