It may be old news to most of the folks here, but the Kitchenaid Pro-Line toasters have been recalled !

The hazard ....the heating elements can unexpectedly self- start, if power to the toaster is interrupted and ignite any anything flammable on top of the unit !!!
both the 2- slice and 4- slice are affected

the models:
KPTT780PM
KPTT780BU
KPTT780ER
KPTT780TG

KPTT890PM
KPTT890BU
KPTT890ER
KPTT890TG
Serial nos. begin with the letters " WTP " OR " WTR "

DO NOT USE THIS UNIT, UNPLUG AND

Thanks for posting - I had to go check my toaster to make sure we weren't affected. Had we been, this is the only way I would have found out.
